The variety is of Italian origin and is known under a number of regional synonyms, including Damaschina Gialla, Coscia di monaca gialla, Collotorto, and Basaricatta. The tree is characterized by good vigor, high adaptability to growing conditions, and disease resistance.

The medium-sized fruits have an elongated or oval shape and waxy-yellow skin. The yellow flesh is dense, juicy, and sweet. The variety is classified as early or mid-early, ripening in the first third of August; the fruits are suitable for fresh consumption and processing, are not prone to cracking during rain, but are prone to shedding when fully ripe.
