The plant is used as a rootstock, however, it does not allow for the formation of straight trunks, which is why grafting at the root collar or the use of an intermediate rootstock is recommended. Its primary value lies in characteristics important for the certification and quality control of planting material.

Complete incompatibility has been identified with the varieties Reine-Claude d'Althan and Sanctus Hubertus. The varieties Monsieur Hâtif, Bleu de Belgique, and Czar show only partial compatibility with this rootstock.
