Variety description

10 August 2026

Under the name Beurré d’Arenberg, two different pear varieties have historically appeared, and there is frequent confusion with the Glou Morceau variety. The tree is characterized by strong growth and a pyramidal crown shape.

The fruits are large, pear-shaped, sometimes bumpy, with yellow skin covered with small dots. The flesh is white, juicy, and aromatic, with a sweet-and-sour taste. The variety is a winter one: harvesting is carried out in October, consumer maturity occurs in November, and storage is possible until mid-January.

The variety has stable yields and is used for dessert purposes. There is no information about disease resistance in historical sources.
