Variety description

10 August 2026

The Coccitoia variety is an ancient local variety that was not obtained through modern breeding. Its historical significance is due to the preservation of agrobiodiversity.

Harvesting is usually carried out at the end of August or the beginning of September. The fruits reach consumer ripeness a few days after picking from the tree. When stored in a refrigerator, the fruits are able to maintain their quality for several months, outside of it — 3–4 weeks.

The fruits of this variety are characterized as juicy and sweet, with a distinct aroma. They are suitable for fresh consumption, culinary use, and the production of distillates.
