The pear variety Colmar Dumortier is a historical variety recorded in pomological lists of the late 19th — early 20th century. A detailed agronomic description of the variety, including information on the ripening period, tree characteristics, or fruit quality, is absent in available sources.
It is known that seeds of this variety were used in the breeding of other fruit crops; in particular, the apple variety Madame Galopin was obtained based on them in 1873.
