The Codorno variety is a local Portuguese pear cultivar, mentions of which are found in historical documents dating back to the 16th century. In 2016, the variety was officially included in the National Catalogue of Fruit Varieties of Portugal with the intended use for fruit production.

At present, a detailed agrobiological description of the variety, including data on plant height, disease resistance, and productivity indicators, is absent from open publications. Official sources classify it as a traditional variety conserved within the framework of national genetic resources.
