The Gijotka variety, also known as Docteur Jules Guyot or 'Rana viljamovka', is classified as a spur-type variety. The tree has low vigor and a sparse, compact crown, which ensures good light penetration within the tree.

The variety is intended for fresh consumption. In terms of agronomy, sensitivity to excess lime in the soil is noted. When grafted onto quince, the variety often requires the use of interstocks due to incompatibility; the use of seedling rootstocks is also possible.
