The variety is part of the folk selection and historical heritage of the Casentino region in Italy. The fruits are suitable for fresh consumption and are also used for processing and the production of distillates.
At room temperature, the fruits can be stored for 3–4 weeks; in a refrigerator, they can be kept for several months. The variety is included in official regional registers of genetic resources and biodiversity as an object for conservation.
