The GIOVANAZZA variety is a traditional local variety historically common in the Tuscany region. Fruits ripen in the winter period and were traditionally consumed both fresh and dried, for example, baked in an oven after bread was prepared.

Morphologically, the fruits are characterized by a very small size and pyriform shape; the skin has an intense green color. The fruit flesh is tender and fine, while the variety possesses good keeping quality.

The plant is adapted to high-altitude conditions and exhibits high resistance to fungal and parasitic diseases.
