The variety is part of the historical agricultural heritage of Bologna. The fruits are characterized by a pear-shaped to cydonia-shaped form, resembling quince fruits.
Currently, a detailed agrotechnical profile for the variety is absent. Historically, it was used in the traditional fruit growing of the region, and today efforts to cultivate it are focused on biodiversity conservation projects.
