CH 201
ActivePyrus communis L. · European pear
EST. PRODUCTIVO DE DANILO CHRISTEN
10 August 2026
The variety originates from the Umbria region and is a landrace included in the Ark of Taste catalog. Fruits ripen in mid-October to early November and require ripening in a cool place, maintaining consumer quality until February.
The fruits have a characteristic shape with an elongated neck, which is why the variety received the local name "duck pear". Historically, the variety was valued for its high nutritional value, thanks to which it was called "peasant steak".
