CH 201
ActivePyrus communis L. · European pear
EST. PRODUCTIVO DE DANILO CHRISTEN
10 August 2026
The tree reaches a height of up to 25 meters and acquires a characteristic gnarled trunk with age. The fruits have an irregular pot-bellied shape, and their skin takes on a greenish-yellow hue when ripe, sometimes with a reddish blush.
The flesh of the fruits is yellowish in color, juicy and granular, and possesses a nutmeg aroma with notes of cinnamon, honey, and caramel. The variety is a summer type; the fruits ripen in late August or early September and are not suitable for long-term storage.
The fruits are less sweet in their fresh form compared to other varieties, so the primary method of their use is processing. They are used for drying, making juices, compotes, baking, and fruit brandy.
