CH 201
ActivePyrus communis L. · European pear
EST. PRODUCTIVO DE DANILO CHRISTEN
10 August 2026
The variety is a seedling of the Bartlett variety, developed at the New York State Agricultural Experiment Station. The trees are characterized by high vigor and winter hardiness, but come into bearing relatively slowly.
The fruits ripen in the second half of October. They have good size and a pyriform shape similar to the Bartlett variety, but are distinguished by the presence of russeting on the skin. The fruit flesh is sweet, tender, and fine-grained.
The variety was studied in the context of fire blight resistance and was considered promising for producing high-quality produce at late dates.
