The Sijsjespeer variety, also known as Waterpeer, is a large tree with slow growth in the first years after planting. The tree is distinguished by high yield.

The fruits are of medium size, have a green color and a short shape, close to bergamot. Harvest and consumer maturity occur in September.

The variety has a dual-purpose (table and processing) use: the fruits are consumed fresh and are also used for canning.
