Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety was obtained from seeds by a gardener named Six in the Belgian city of Kortrijk and first began to fruit in 1845. The official description of the variety was published in 1850 in the publication Album de Pomologie.

The variety belongs to dessert pears and is recommended for home gardening. Literature notes a high degree of tree resistance to diseases. The fruits possess a characteristic ribbed structure around the calyx, which makes them similar in appearance to the Le Lectier variety.
