WINTER-ZITRONENBIRNE

Active

Pyrus communis L. European pear · Fruit crops

also searched as: винтер зитроненбирне

Variety description

10 August 2026

The fruits of the variety are medium to large in size, reaching 90 mm in height and 75 mm in width. The fruit shape is turbinate, with a slight constriction at the peduncle. The smooth skin turns lemon-yellow upon ripening and is covered with dots and patches of russet. The flesh is white or yellowish-white, firm, juicy, semi-melting, with a sweet-and-sour taste and aroma.

The tree is characterized by vigorous growth and forms a pyramidal crown. The variety develops successfully on both quince and wild rootstocks, while providing the best performance in the form of free-growing dwarf trees. Cultivation requires warm regions and light, nutrient-rich soils. The variety is characterized by low susceptibility to pests; however, in unsuitable soil conditions, the fruits may crack due to scab infection.
