CH 201
ActivePyrus communis L. · European pear
EST. PRODUCTIVO DE DANILO CHRISTEN
10 August 2026
The tree has moderate or weak vigor with a pyramidal, often sparse and spreading crown and thin, drooping branches. The shoots are dark brown in color. The leaves are lanceolate-elliptical in shape with a pointed tip. Flowering is late; the variety is self-sterile and needs pollinators.
The fruits are round-obovate in shape, below average or medium in size. The thin skin is green at harvest, turning yellowish-green with a characteristic russeting upon ripening. The flesh is yellowish-cream, fine-grained, juicy, with a pronounced sweet taste and wine notes.
The variety is classified as winter; harvesting is carried out in October, and consumer maturity occurs in December-January. The plant is characterized by cold hardiness but is demanding regarding soil conditions and rootstock. A susceptibility to scab and pear sucker is noted.
