The variety forms a tree with a narrow conical or narrow pyramidal crown and an almost straight trunk with a sinuous leader. The branches are short, directed upwards, and the medium twigs have a glossy green hue.
The leaves are large, 8–13 cm long and about 1.5 cm wide, green on top and glaucous-green underneath. The petioles have a reddish-brown color, a length of about 10 mm, and are equipped with glandular appendages. The plant is characterized by rapid growth and late leaf fall.
The tree possesses low sensitivity to strong wind, however, it can react to the impact of salty sea air. In modern cultivation, the variety is found rarely and is used predominantly in landscape gardening.
