Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety belongs to the subspecies Trifolium subterraneum ssp. brachycalycinum and has a prostrate or semi-erect growth habit with large leaves. Inflorescences develop on long peduncles, burying themselves shallowly in the soil and using cracks or stones to cover the seeds.

The plant is of mid-maturity, flowering approximately 115 days after sowing. It is characterized by good productivity, thick stems, and a high level of hardseededness (about 45–48%), which ensures reliable crop regeneration.

The variety is adapted to a moderate Mediterranean climate with an annual rainfall from 500 mm. It shows the best results on neutral and alkaline soils, including loams and clay soils, and also tolerates moderately acidic soils.

Under field conditions, it exhibits susceptibility to the red-legged earth mite and the blue-green aphid, typical for most varieties of this species.
