The variety has a prostrate growth habit and the ability for geocarpy, i.e., burying inflorescences in the soil. It is valued for its very low formononetin content, which reduces the risk of reproductive disorders in livestock.
The plant is susceptible to leaf rust and root rot, while showing moderate resistance to subterranean clover stunt virus. Under modern conditions, the variety is being replaced by more productive and resistant counterparts.
