Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety belongs to the subspecies ssp. brachycalycinum, which determines its adaptation to neutral or alkaline, cracking or self-mulching soils. The plant is low-growing and prostrate, typically with a height of less than 45 cm.

Biological characteristics of the variety include late maturity, which requires moisture over a prolonged period, and a specific reproduction mechanism: long flower stalks penetrate soil cracks, where seed formation occurs. The variety shows partial resistance to subterranean clover stunt virus.

The plant biomass is characterized by a low formononetin content, which is an important indicator of safety for livestock health. Compared to other varieties, Nuba demonstrates lower tolerance to certain types of herbicides.
