The winter soft wheat variety Korund appeared in German variety descriptive lists in the early 2000s. During scientific trials of that period, the variety demonstrated a medium degree of susceptibility to infection by common bunt (Tilletia caries), trailing a number of other varieties in this indicator.
Data on the precise morphological characteristics, plant height, maturity group, and grain baking quality of the Korund variety are absent in open sources. The variety should be distinguished from the Russian spring durum wheat variety Omsky korund (Triticum durum Desf.).
