The variety is a hybrid of the American grape species Vitis berlandieri and Vitis riparia. It is intended exclusively for use as a rootstock for Vitis vinifera cultivars and is not grown for berry production.

The plant possesses vigorous growth and good wood maturation ability. The variety demonstrates high resistance to the root form of phylloxera, medium drought tolerance, and good adaptability to various soil types, including calcareous and heavy soils.

When used as a rootstock, the variety ensures high affinity with most cultivated varieties, and also promotes good rooting and yield of grafted nursery plants, supporting the productivity of scions.
