The rootstock is characterized by vigorous growth and is recommended for use with less vigorous grapevine varieties. It adapts well to various soil types, including heavy, clay, and stony soils, however, it is not suitable for sites with significant moisture deficiency or very shallow soils.

The plant has high resistance to root phylloxera and good tolerance to chlorosis. The rootstock is characterized by quality wood maturation and a high capacity for grafting with the scion, although a delayed initial development after planting is sometimes noted.

It is not recommended to use Kober 125 AA for grapevine varieties prone to flower drop, as the excessive vigor of the rootstock can intensify this negative process.
