The rootstock is characterized by very high vigor, which influences the vegetative activity of grafted varieties and can lead to a slight delay in harvest maturation. It is well-adapted to deep, cool, moist, and calcareous soils, tolerating up to 35-40% total carbonates.

It possesses high resistance to root phylloxera and fungal diseases such as downy mildew and powdery mildew, with moderate resistance to leaf phylloxera. Sensitivity of the rootstock to magnesium, iron, zinc, and boron deficiency is noted.

The variety demonstrates good graft union with the majority of grape varieties, however, it sometimes displays incompatibility with individual clones, including Sauvignon, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Colombard. Due to vigorous growth, it requires mandatory training on a trellis.
