Variety description

The variety is an interspecific hybrid of Vitis berlandieri and Vitis riparia. The vines are vigorous, with shoots reaching a length of 3.5–4 meters. The growing season lasts approximately 175–190 days. The variety has a male flower type and does not produce bunches.

It possesses high resistance to root phylloxera and fungal diseases, while resistance to leaf phylloxera is low. It adapts well to warm, deep soils, tolerates a total limestone content of up to 35% and active lime of up to 15–20%. It poorly tolerates cold, damp, and waterlogged soils, where it is prone to chlorosis. Frost resistance is lower than that of some other rootstocks.

The variety grafts well with most European grape varieties, promotes high-quality rooting of cuttings and yield of grafted nursery plants. The rootstock stimulates scion growth without delaying the maturation of the crop and the vine.
