The variety is an autochthonous grape of Mallorca and is the result of a natural cross between Callet Cas Concos and Fogoneu. In the local dialect, the name of the variety means "black", which corresponds to the color of the berries.

The bunches are large and dense; the berries are medium or large in size, spherical, black-blue in color with almost colorless flesh. The variety is characterized by high yield, drought tolerance, and resistance to diseases; however, with excessive nutrition, it is prone to excessive growth, and when the berries are overripe, it is susceptible to downy mildew.

It is used for the production of elegant, soft wines with a moderate alcohol level, balanced acidity, and aromas of red fruits, raspberry, and cherry. It is used both for creating varietal wines and in blends with Manto Negro and Fogoneu varieties.
