The variety was obtained in 2004 by crossing Calandro and MTP 3082-1-49, combining in its genetics species of Vitis vinifera, Vitis amurensis, Vitis riparia and Vitis rotundifolia. The vine is distinguished by upright shoot growth and early bud break, which makes it vulnerable to late spring frosts.

The plant possesses high resistance to major fungal diseases, allowing for a significant reduction in fungicide use, and the thick skin of the berries ensures medium to high resistance to grey mold. The clusters of the variety are compact, and the berries are small and black in color.

Wines from this variety are characterized by complexity, pronounced tannins, and notes of dark berries, tobacco, and cloves. Due to their structure, the drinks are suitable for aging in oak barrels, and in warm climatic conditions, they can exhibit a Mediterranean character.
