The variety represents a group of ten samples with an identical molecular profile. The name originates from the municipality of Cadrete, where the crop was widely distributed, and the term "Parrel", mentioned in 18th-century historical documents and encountered in the Somontano region.
Historically, the variety was used as a dual-purpose grape, employed both in winemaking and as a table grape. Currently, detailed agronomic and morphological characteristics, such as maturity dates or indicators of disease resistance, are absent in the scientific literature.
