Variety description

The variety was obtained by crossing the Bacchus and Seyval varieties. The vines are characterized by medium vigor and an upright shoot growth habit. The variety is prone to lateral shoot formation and flower abortion, which requires careful vineyard management.
It is classified as a fungus-resistant variety: it possesses moderate resistance to downy mildew, powdery mildew, and Botrytis, as well as high resistance to Phomopsis. The ripening period is medium, comparable to the Müller-Thurgau variety.
The clusters and berries resemble the Riesling variety, but are less compact. The wines possess full body, mature acidity, and a bouquet with notes of mango, passion fruit, gooseberry, and muscat tones. The resulting wine is suitable for aging.
