The variety is a natural intraspecific hybrid, a descendant of the Gouais blanc and Pougayen varieties. It belongs to the second late ripening epoch; buds open early. It has good vigor, with shoots growing in a semi-upright to upright habit. The variety is productive and requires short pruning.

Bunches are medium-sized, cylindro-conical, and of medium density. Berries are medium-sized, ellipsoid, with thick skin and juicy pulp. The variety does not show high sensitivity to downy mildew and powdery mildew, but is susceptible to grey mold.

Wine from this variety is characterized by deep color, rich tannin content, good acidity, low alcohol content, and a tendency toward astringency at a young age. Currently, commercial plantings are almost non-existent; the variety is primarily maintained in ampelographic collections.
