The variety originated in 1920 in Romania through the natural hybridization of the Feteasca alba and Francusa varieties. The vines are medium-sized with bisexual flowers; the clusters are medium, cylindrical-conical, and of medium density. The berries are medium-sized, round in shape, yellowish-green when ripe, and have thick skin and juicy pulp.
The variety possesses moderate resistance to downy mildew, powdery mildew, and late spring frosts, as well as pronounced drought tolerance. It is adaptable to soil types but prefers loose and fertile land. It requires vineyard moisture control to protect against grey mold.
Wines from this variety are characterized by refreshing acidity with aromas of rose, wildflowers, apple, pear, and citrus. Depending on the production technology, it allows for the creation of both light wines and full-bodied samples suitable for aging in oak, where notes of dried fruits, almond, apricot, and honey emerge.
