The variety is a product of the natural crossing of the Hebén variety with an unknown partner. The bushes are characterized by strong branching. The variety name comes from the structure of the cluster, which often has a pronounced wing or 'shoulder'.

The variety is used exclusively in winemaking. The resulting wines have a pale red color, low acidity, and low alcohol content, possessing a fresh flavor profile with notes of red berries, wildflowers, and soft tannins.
