The variety has an upright shoot growth habit. Leaves are round, weakly to moderately lobed, flowers are hermaphroditic. Bunches are small or medium, cylindrical-conical in shape, medium density. Berries are medium-sized, round, dark blue or black with a waxy bloom.

The variety is highly resistant to grey mold, but susceptible to mites and prone to flower/ovary drop. It has low winter hardiness and is sensitive to late spring frosts due to early bud burst. Used for the production of red wines with intense color and moderate tannins.
