The variety was obtained by crossing Auxerrois and Portugais bleu varieties. The plant is characterized by high vigor, horizontal shoot growth, and bud break 10 days after the Chasselas variety. The ripening period occurs approximately two weeks after the Chasselas variety.

Clusters are small, moderately dense. Berries are medium-sized, have thin skin, soft flesh, and a simple taste. The variety is susceptible to downy mildew and powdery mildew, while possessing resistance to Botrytis cinerea.

Wines from the Granita variety are characterized by low acidity, good color, and pronounced tannins with low alcohol levels. The aromatic profile is characterized by notes of raspberry, amyl tones, and a floral rose aroma.
