The variety has a mid-late to late ripening period and is characterized by an upright growth habit. The leaves are round and entire, and the berries are short-elliptical in shape. The plant is well adapted to mountain climates, stony and calcareous soils, and thanks to late budburst, it is resistant to spring frosts. The variety is susceptible to powdery mildew, downy mildew, and is prone to flower abortion (coulure).

Wines made from this variety are distinguished by freshness, moderate alcohol content, and a bright ruby color. The aromatic profile includes notes of red berries, black pepper, as well as floral and earthy nuances. The variety was historically grown in the Hautes-Alpes department and, after a period of being threatened with extinction, it is currently being restored in cultivation.
