The variety is indigenous to the Savoie region. It is an ancient variety that is genetically distinct rather than a mutation of the Mondeuse noire variety. As a result of a natural cross with the Dureza variety, Mondeuse blanche became one of the parents of the Syrah variety.

The leaf is medium-sized, rounded, five-lobed, light green. The cluster is medium, cylindrical or cylindrical-conical, dense or very dense. The berry is medium, rounded, golden-white in color with a waxy bloom. The variety is characterized by a late ripening period, medium vine vigor, and good shoot maturation.

The yield of the variety is low and unstable. The variety has medium resistance to fungal diseases and is susceptible to grey mold. It is used exclusively in winemaking for the production of white wines with a high level of acidity, good sugar accumulation potential, and aging potential.
