Rondo is a vigorous variety obtained by crossing Zarya Severa and Saint Laurent. The variety belongs to the PIWI group, which ensures high resistance to fungal diseases, in particular to downy mildew, however, it requires control of powdery mildew and grey mold in high humidity. The plant is capable of withstanding temperature drops down to –24...–25°C.

The variety is of early or early-mid ripening period and is prone to overloading with the crop, requiring bunch thinning. Bunches are medium, cylindrical-conical, weighing 150–230 g. Berries are round, dark blue, almost black in color, with firm skin and juicy staining pulp, which allows for the production of wines with deep saturated color and berry notes.
