The variety is a traditional wine grape of the southern regions of Corsica. Since 2020, it has been officially included in the French catalogue of grape varieties as a crop adapted to climate change.
The plant is characterized by a late ripening period. The variety exhibits good resistance to major fungal diseases, including downy mildew, powdery mildew, and gray mold.
This variety should not be confused with the varieties Ugni blanc (known as Trebbiano Toscano) or Monastrell (whose synonyms include Rossula Nera or Rossola Nera), as there is no genetic link between them.
