The variety belongs to wine grape varieties of local origin in the Castilla-La Mancha and Catalonia regions. Its ripening cycle is significantly longer than that of the Tempranillo variety, by approximately one month.
During studies, the variety showed intermediate susceptibility to downy mildew. Wine products derived from this variety are characterized by significant acidity, an adequate pH level, and a moderate alcohol content.
