The variety is native to the Peloponnese. Bunches are medium-sized, cylindro-conical, and dense. Berries are rounded, small to medium in size, blue-black in color with thick skin and juicy pulp.

The plant is characterized by high yield and vigor, which requires crop load regulation to maintain quality. The variety is susceptible to major fungal diseases and requires careful vineyard management.

Wines made from Agiorgitiko are characterized by medium acidity and soft tannins. The aromatic profile includes shades of cherry, strawberry, and dark berries, as well as spicy and woody notes. The variety has high aging potential, especially when cultivated in the Nemea region.
