The variety is late in ripening terms. Bunches are medium-sized, dense, cylindrical-conical in shape, often with a wing. Berries are rounded, blue-black in color, small to medium in size, with skin of medium thickness and juicy flesh.
The plant has high vigor and yield, requiring regulation to achieve quality. The variety is susceptible to major fungal diseases, such as downy mildew, powdery mildew, and grey mold, and is also sensitive to drought and frost. It prefers poor, dry soils.
Intended exclusively for winemaking. Young wines are distinguished by notes of cherry, raspberry, and strawberry; aged wines acquire spicy undertones, notes of dried herbs, chocolate, tobacco, and wood, while maintaining aging potential of up to 10 years.
