The variety is autochthonous and was restored within the framework of the work of the Vine and Wine Institute of Castilla-La Mancha (IVICAM). It is a natural form of grapevine adapted to local climatic conditions and is intended exclusively for winemaking.
The chemical composition of the berries shows the presence of geranylacetone. When grown under moisture-deficient conditions, the variety demonstrates the ability to accumulate more than 23 °Brix of soluble solids. Currently, the variety is being studied for its resistance to arid conditions and adaptation to climate change.
