The variety is a mutation of the American table grape variety Cardinal, which originated in Italy. The purpose of the variety is fresh consumption. The berries have a red-violet color, a pleasant taste, and a light muscat aroma.
The plants have medium vine vigor. The variety is characterized by low resistance to downy mildew, powdery mildew, and grey mold. It is characterized by frost sensitivity and a tendency for flowers, ovaries, and berries to shed or develop 'millerandage' under unfavorable weather conditions during the flowering period.
