The variety name is a folk moniker applied in various regions of Italy to different biological forms, such as Barbera bianca or Barbassese. The variety is traditionally used for the production of white wines, including dry sparkling wines.
Morphologically, the variety is characterized by medium or large clusters, ranging from moderately loose to compact, and spheroid berries of yellow-green color with a waxy bloom. The fruit has a neutral aroma and a sweet taste.
The plant belongs to relatively early varieties and is distinguished by high productivity, which is reflected in the variety name. Under adverse weather conditions, there is a tendency for the berries to rot.
