Wine grape variety requiring a warm climate and a long growing season to reach full maturity. The vine is vigorous with an upright shoot habit, allowing the plant to be grown without trellises using the «gobelet» training method. Bud burst is late, which reduces the risk of damage from spring frosts; the variety possesses high resistance to heat and drought but is highly susceptible to downy mildew and powdery mildew.

Leaf is large, five-lobed, with pubescence on the underside. Cluster is medium-sized, conical, compact, with firm stems. Berry is medium to large, blue-black in color, with thick skin. The variety is characterized by high yield, providing wines with pronounced structure and tannins, provided that yields are limited.
