Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety is of French origin from the Ardèche region; it is also found in Italy under the synonym Nebbiolo di Dronero. The vine is characterized by medium or above-average vigor, with perfect flowers. Leaves are medium, weakly or moderately divided, three- or five-lobed, with slight bristly-arachnoid pubescence on the underside.

Clusters are medium or large, conical, often winged, and compact. Berries are small or medium, round, and bluish-black in color. The variety is characterized by medium yield, a good balance of growth and fruiting, and susceptibility to phylloxera.

This wine grape variety is intended for the production of powerful red wines with high acidity and deep color, which require aging in oak barrels.
