Variety description

10 August 2026

The Cipro variety, also known as Rdeči muškat or Red Muscat, is autochthonous to the Slovenian Istria region. Genetically, it is identical to the Muškat ruža Porečki, Moscato rosa, and Rosenmuskateller varieties.

The grapes are used primarily for the production of sweet dessert wines, and less frequently for dry or rosé wines. The products possess an intense aroma with notes of rose petals, strawberry, vanilla, spices, and candied orange peel, and are also characterized by high acidity.
