The Cirfandli variety was brought to the Pécs region from the Austrian Gumpoldskirchen in the 1850s. The designation P.200 is an internal breeding or clonal number assigned to a specific specimen of this variety in the collection of the Pécs Institute of Viticulture and Oenology.

This grape is a wine variety used for the production of white wines, which can be either dry or sweet. The variety is considered demanding in terms of growing conditions, well-adapted to the climate of the sunny slopes of the Mecsek hills, and produces wines with notes of peach, pear, yellow apple, and floral tones.
