The variety is an ancient wine grape that was long considered lost. The genetic origin of the variety is currently unknown. Agronomically, the variety is characterized by late ripening and is grown primarily on limestone hills.
The plant possesses resistance to grey mold, yet is susceptible to powdery mildew. The grapes are used for the production of varietal white wines, which are distinguished by their full body, moderate acidity, and potential for bottle aging for up to six years.
